Dammit Boy Mixtape Vol. 2: From Under Tha Underground

Dammit Boy Mixtape Vol. 2: From Under Tha Underground is the second installment of the Dammit Boy Mixtape Series, released January 27, 2007, through Dammit Boy Productions. Hosted by Tre Dizzle, the 20-track mixtape continued the independent underground movement established by the series’ first installment, Gangsta’s Zone.

Building on the foundation of Dammit Boy Productions, Volume 2 brought together established collaborators and emerging underground talent. Featuring FЯK$, Compton Cisco, Insane Poetry, Teiko, Female Menice, Payne Theory, KB, and additional artists, the project showcased the musical relationships and creative independence that defined the early DBP catalog.

The title track, “From Under Tha Underground,” introduces the project’s independent spirit and establishes its central theme. Throughout the mixtape, listeners encounter a combination of underground hip-hop, collaborative recordings, and individual artist performances.

One of the project’s notable recordings is “My Life,” featuring Tre Dizzle, Compton Cisco, and J-Roq The Movemaker. The collaboration documents the continuing musical relationship between DBP artists and J-Roq, who was associated with Blue Chip Entertainment.

Another standout is “The Answer,” featuring Tre Dizzle and Compton Cisco. The recording highlights the creative chemistry between two of the artists closely associated with Dammit Boy Productions.

The mixtape also includes “Hay Hay,” featuring Tre Dizzle and FЯK$, a collaboration that would later become relevant to the Doobie Brovaz recording history.

Additional selections include “Peekin Thru Ya Back,” featuring Insane Poetry, and “Encore,” which brings together several of the project’s participating artists.

Released during the early development of Dammit Boy Productions, From Under Tha Underground represents an important chapter in the label’s independent recording history. The project documents the collaborative relationships, musical experimentation, and underground identity that helped establish the Dammit Boy Mixtape Series.
