Wickett Crickett — H-Town Legend

Wickett Crickett was more than an artist or a host — he was a bridge between Houston’s underground hip-hop community and the legends who helped shape the culture.

A respected promoter, interviewer, and personality, Wickett became known throughout Houston for his passion for independent music and his ability to connect artists, fans, and industry veterans. Through his work with Roc-D-Mic, he provided a platform where countless artists were given the opportunity to perform, be heard, and become part of Houston’s ever-growing hip-hop legacy.

For Dammit Boy Productions founder Gregg Brinkley, known professionally as Tre Dizzle, Wickett’s influence became deeply personal. After moving to Houston and searching for a place within the city’s hip-hop scene, Gregg met Wickett at a biker bash performance. What began as an introduction quickly grew into a brotherhood.

Wickett took Tre Dizzle under his wing, introducing him to the people, places, and personalities that shaped Houston hip-hop. Over the years, Gregg became Wickett’s driver, DJ, and close friend, documenting countless moments through Dammit Boy TV and building an archive of interviews, performances, and behind-the-scenes footage that continues to preserve Wickett’s impact.

Wickett’s network reached far beyond Houston. His journey brought him alongside pioneers and legends of hip-hop culture, including members of groups such as Whodini and U.T.F.O., demonstrating the respect he earned throughout the community.

Today, his legacy lives on through the memories of those who knew him, the artists he helped, the events he created, and the extensive video archive captured through Dammit Boy Productions. The Wickett Crickett Legacy Project exists to ensure that his contributions to Houston hip-hop history are documented and remembered for generations to come.
