Dammit Boy Mixtape Vol. 2: From Under Tha Underground by Tre Dizzle
Dammit Boy Mixtape Vol. 2: From Under Tha Underground is the second official release in the Dammit Boy Mixtape Series and represents a major step forward in the early evolution of Dammit Boy Productions. Hosted by Tre Dizzle, the project continued the momentum established by Gangsta’s Zone while placing a greater emphasis on developing the growing Dammit Boy Productions roster and strengthening the label’s independent identity.
Following the formation of Dammit Boy Productions, Volume 2 showcased the next stage of the movement by introducing new artists, expanding creative partnerships, and building a stronger foundation for the future of the label. The mixtape features performances from Tre Dizzle, FЯK$, Compton Cisco, Teiko, Female Menice, Spark, Insane Poetry, Payne Theory, KB, and additional collaborators who helped shape the early years of the Dammit Boy Productions family.
The title track, “From Under Tha Underground,” serves as both the introduction and mission statement for the project. Tre Dizzle outlines the vision of bringing authentic underground hip-hop into a broader spotlight while remaining true to the culture that inspired the movement. Throughout the mixtape, listeners hear a label defining its sound, building its roster, and establishing a reputation for independent artist development.
One of the project’s most important records is “My Life,” performed by Tre Dizzle, Compton Cisco, and J-Roq The Movemaker. The song marked the first collaboration between Dammit Boy Productions and the Bluechip Entertainment family through internet-based recording, demonstrating how independent artists were beginning to use emerging technology to collaborate across state lines long before remote recording became common.
Another standout is “The Answer,” featuring Tre Dizzle and Compton Cisco. More than a traditional rap record, the song functions as a heartfelt hip-hop prayer, reflecting on purpose, faith, and perseverance while asking for guidance during the early years of building an independent label.
The mixtape also features the original recording of “Hay Hay” by Tre Dizzle and FЯK$, a fan favorite that would later be completely re-recorded for the upcoming Doobie Brovaz project, highlighting the continuing evolution of the Dammit Boy Productions catalog.
Fans of horrorcore will recognize “Peekin Thru Ya Back,” featuring Insane Poetry and Tre Dizzle, a track that also appeared on Insane Poetry’s Fallen From Grace release, strengthening the long-standing creative relationship between Dammit Boy Productions and one of underground hip-hop’s most respected groups. Additional highlights include “Me & My Nigga” by Insane Poetry featuring Pope, along with the closing collaboration “Encore,” bringing together Payne Theory, KB, Teiko, Female Menice, FЯK$, Compton Cisco, and Tre Dizzle for a fitting conclusion to the project.
While Tre Dizzle, FЯK$, and Compton Cisco had moved on from Grim Reality Entertainment, From Under Tha Underground demonstrated that the transition was rooted in growth and independence rather than conflict. Continued appearances by artists such as Spark and Insane Poetry reflected the mutual respect that remained between former label affiliates while Dammit Boy Productions established its own identity.
As the second installment in the Dammit Boy Mixtape Series, From Under Tha Underground played a vital role in expanding the Dammit Boy Productions movement, documenting a period of rapid artistic growth, stronger collaborations, and an unwavering commitment to authentic independent hip-hop.
