Introduction

Boleggz performs live at Roc-D-Mic at Diezelz Lounge in Houston, Texas, on March 27, 2014. Preserved in the DBTV archive, the footage documents an important period in the relationship between Boleggz, Roc-D-Mic and Dammit Boy Productions.

Performance

The performance features Boleggz performing “Keep It Real,” “Yaki Meat” and “Retarded,” followed by closing interview and credit footage. The three songs would later be connected to Dha Beggining, providing an early live record of material associated with the project.

Background

Roc-D-Mic was hosted by Wickett Crickett and provided independent artists with opportunities to perform live in Houston. Tre Dizzle was involved with the events as both a DJ and performing artist while Dammit Boy Productions became increasingly involved with the showcase.

Historical Context

Boleggz’s Roc-D-Mic appearances became part of his developing relationship with Dammit Boy Productions. During this period, Boleggz became an official member of the Dammit Boy team, leading into the release of Dha Beggining with Dammit Boy Productions in 2015.

The March 27 performance also took place on Tre Dizzle’s birthday. During the event, Wickett Crickett acknowledged Tre Dizzle and the participating artists joined in wishing him a happy birthday. That moment remains part of the larger Roc-D-Mic archive and the history surrounding Dammit Boy Productions’ involvement with the event series.

Legacy

This DBTV footage preserves more than a standalone Boleggz performance. It documents an early chapter of his history with Dammit Boy Productions and material connected with Dha Beggining, while also preserving part of the Roc-D-Mic era in Houston’s independent hip-hop scene.
