Favor Ain’t Fair is a 12-track mixtape by Jah’s Reflection, formerly known as J.R., released August 1, 2017. Featuring appearances from Killem Verbally (K.V.) and Tre Dizzle, the project combines independent West Coast hip-hop with themes of perseverance, faith, personal growth, and determination.
Originally presented under the name J.R., Favor Ain’t Fair represents an important chapter in the recording history of Kevin Williams, the artist now known as Jah’s Reflection. The original cover carries the credit “J.R. Presents,” preserving his earlier artistic identity and connecting the mixtape to his musical development before adopting his current name.
The project opens with “The Come Up,” a recording that also received a standalone single release with its own artwork. The song maintains its position as the mixtape’s opening track while remaining available as a separate release in the Jah’s Reflection catalog.
Throughout the mixtape, Jah’s Reflection explores different aspects of ambition, identity, and personal experience. Recordings including “Gotta Get It,” “My M.O.,” “Can’t See Me,” “Power,” and “Who I Am” contribute to the project’s themes of determination, self-reflection, and overcoming obstacles.
The mixtape also documents collaborations with fellow independent hip-hop artists. Killem Verbally (K.V.) appears on “Money Tip,” while both K.V. and Tre Dizzle contribute to “It Ain’t Easy” and “Trenches.” These collaborations connect the release to the broader musical history preserved in the Dammit Boy Productions archive.
Additional recordings, including “Do My Thang,” “All I Know,” and “Born With It,” complete the project’s 12-track collection. Together, the songs present a body of work centered on personal expression, artistic independence, and the experiences that shape Jah’s Reflection’s musical perspective.
The original artwork features illustrated hands surrounding an orange circular centerpiece beneath a white halo. Its distinctive black, gray, and orange design remains part of the project’s historical visual identity and is preserved in the Dammit Boy Productions release archive.
Today, Favor Ain’t Fair remains part of Jah’s Reflection’s documented catalog, connecting his earlier J.R. identity with the music released under his current artist name. The complete 12-track mixtape is available through the SoundCloud player featured on this release page.
