Artist biography

J Fendi | H-Town Hip-Hop Artist | Finnway Records | Formerly J-Finn The Flyguy | Dammit Boy Productions

J Fendi is an H-Town hip-hop artist whose passion for music began long before he entered a recording studio. As a young musician, he played in his middle school band while teaching himself how to make beats. During high school, he expanded his musical foundation by playing piano at his grandparents’ church and became known among friends for freestyling over his own original productions.

After graduating from high school, J Fendi attended Prairie View A&M University, where classmates and friends encouraged him to pursue rap professionally after recognizing his natural talent as both a lyricist and performer. Financial hardships and life challenges eventually led him away from Prairie View, but they also became part of the determination that shaped his music.

He later enrolled at Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas, where he met J-No and became affiliated with Blue Chip Entertainment. That relationship marked a major turning point in his career, providing opportunities to develop his artistry, perform, collaborate, and become part of one of Southeast Texas’ respected independent hip-hop movements.

Originally recording under the name J-Finn The Flyguy, he has since rebranded as J Fendi, reflecting the next chapter of his career while maintaining the authenticity and work ethic that earned him recognition in the underground music scene.

J Fendi is also connected to the I-10 Connected movement, appearing alongside Tre Dizzle and Compton Cisco on the collaborative track “Radio,” further strengthening his ties within the Southern independent hip-hop community.

Today, J Fendi records and releases music independently through Finnway Records, continuing to build his catalog while remaining connected to the relationships and experiences that helped shape his journey. His music blends Southern authenticity, real-life storytelling, and independent hustle, representing both Houston’s culture and the determination to overcome adversity.
