RYDAH MUSIC is a nine-track project by Big Ro the Street Soldier, released through Blue Chip Entertainment. The project documents an important period in the shared history of Blue Chip Entertainment and Dammit Boy Productions, when the two camps were working closely together through a shared recording environment known as UN Studios, or Underground Nation Studios.
RYDAH MUSIC was recorded at UN Studios, the recording studio collectively shared by Blue Chip Entertainment and Dammit Boy Productions during this period. J-No served as the head engineer for the project, giving him a significant role both behind the boards and as a featured artist throughout the release.
The UN Studios connection places RYDAH MUSIC within a larger chapter of DBP and Blue Chip Entertainment history, when artists and producers from both camps were regularly working within the same creative environment.
Big Ro is joined throughout RYDAH MUSIC by members and collaborators from the Blue Chip Entertainment circle. J-No appears extensively across the project, while C-Fish and Duane Smith also contribute guest appearances. Tre Dizzle represents the Dammit Boy Productions connection on “F with em,” joining Big Ro and J-No on the track.
The nine-song project includes “Reality Music,” “hands to the sky,” “Rolling With Me,” “Head Bussas (freestyle),” “Tragedy (Freestyle),” “F with em,” “Gotta get that Money,” “whole life,” and “What up, Wassamp.”
“F with em” features J-No and Tre Dizzle and received an official music video from Blue Chip Entertainment. The historical video was released under the title “Freestyle (F W/ em) Big Ro feat. Tre Dizzle, J-No,” preserving the naming used by Blue Chip Entertainment for the official visual.
The video provides an important surviving visual document connecting Big Ro, J-No, Tre Dizzle, Blue Chip Entertainment, and the RYDAH MUSIC project.
Current digital music services date RYDAH MUSIC to November 6, 2009 and classify the project as an album. Blue Chip Entertainment later promoted RYDAH MUSIC as a mixtape when the official “F with em” video was uploaded in 2013. Dammit Boy Productions preserves the project as a mixtape in its archive while documenting the current digital album classification as part of its release history.
