Tre Dizzle performs live at Roc-D-Mic Fridays at Club Yakum in Houston, Texas, on January 16, 2015. This DBTV archive video preserves an early performance from the Club Yakum chapter of the Roc-D-Mic event series.
Hosted by Wickett Crickett, Roc-D-Mic provided independent artists with an opportunity to perform live in Houston. Dammit Boy Productions had originally entered the Roc-D-Mic story as invited guests of Wickett Crickett before becoming fully involved with the events during the Club Yakum period.
This era also marked an important development for Tre Dizzle. In addition to performing as an artist, he began working the Roc-D-Mic events as a DJ, expanding his role within the live events and Dammit Boy Productions.
This January 16 performance is part of a series of surviving recordings documenting Roc-D-Mic at Club Yakum. The footage captures Tre Dizzle onstage during a period when DBP’s involvement in Houston’s independent hip-hop scene was expanding through live performances, DJing and event production.
