Willie Dutch | Wickett Crickett & Cornbread Appreciation Day (2014) – Willie Dutch Live Performance

Willie Dutch performs live during Wickett Crickett & Cornbread Appreciation Day, held August 21, 2014 at Club Zona Latina in Houston, Texas.

Performance

The 5:10 archival video opens with Willie Dutch addressing the audience before beginning “Go Hard” at 1:10. The song is the only musical performance featured in the video.

Pre-Release Performance of “Go Hard”

This footage has additional historical significance within the Willie Dutch archive. “Go Hard” was later released as track 8 on Willie Dutch’s Get Rich or Go Fed Tryin’ (No DJ) on December 9, 2014.

Because this performance was filmed on August 21, 2014, Willie Dutch’s appearance at Wickett Crickett & Cornbread Appreciation Day documents him performing “Go Hard” 110 days before the project was commercially released.

The footage therefore preserves a documented pre-release live performance of “Go Hard” and provides a timestamped look at the song before its later appearance on the album.

Wickett Crickett & Cornbread Appreciation Day

Presented by Underground Hype Nation Radio and Swift C Productions, the event brought together Houston artists and members of the hip-hop community for a night honoring Wickett Crickett and Cornbread.

This footage is preserved as part of the Dammit Boy Productions Houston Hip-Hop Archive, documenting artists, performances, releases and community events from Houston’s hip-hop history.
