Wickett Crickett

Houston Hip-Hop Legend • Promoter • Host • Community Builder

Wickett Crickett was more than an artist. He was a promoter, host, mentor, connector, and one of Houston’s most recognizable independent hip-hop personalities. Through live events, interviews, performances, artist promotions, and community relationships, Wickett helped shape Houston’s underground music scene while supporting countless artists across the city. He was part of the culture, part of the movement, and part of the story..

My Brother, My Mentor, My Friend

When I first moved to Houston, I knew almost nobody outside of my Blue Chip family. Looking to establish myself in a new city and become part of the Houston hip-hop community, I booked a performance at a local biker bash. That day, I met a man who would change my entire experience in Houston — Wickett Crickett. What started as a simple introduction quickly became a brotherhood. Wickett took me under his wing, introduced me to the people and places that made Houston hip-hop what it was, and showed me a side of the city that I would have never discovered on my own. I became his driver. I became his DJ. More importantly, I became his friend. Over the years, we traveled throughout Houston together, attended countless events, met artists from every corner of the culture, and created memories that I now have the responsibility and honor of preserving. This is not just the story of an artist. This is the story of a man who helped build a community.
